Hey DIYers, have you ever dropped your makeup and it shatters? Well I have, and it honestly sucks... AND, I dropped it on Christmas Day. Aghhh! Today's DIY will help you repair/fix your broken makeup and make them look pretty much brand new.
Powders, Highlights, Bronzers, etc.
You will need:
- Broken makeup
- Clean knife
- Rubbing alcohol
- Paper towel or tissue
Steps:
1. Collect all of the broken makeup pieces in the bottom of the compact.
2. Break up the makeup as fine as you can using a very clean knife.
3. Add a few drops of rubbing alcohol and mix until it forms a paste; add a few more drops if needed.
4. Spread and smooth makeup back into the compact. Tap on a flat surface to remove any air bubbles. Let dry about 1 hour, or until almost dry but still a little damp.
5. Cover the makeup surface with a clean paper towel or tissue. Use the cap of the rubbing alcohol bottle to pack and smooth the makeup even further. Let dry completely.
6. You're done!
Tip: If the makeup container is too small to mix in, empty the broken makeup into a clean cup or bowl, mix and return to the container to dry.
Lipstick
You will need:
- A lighter or match
- Your broken lipstick :(
Steps:
1. Using a lighter or a lit match, begin to heat the bottom of the broken part of the lipstick until it's liquidy.
2. Stick the bottom to the rest of the lipstick.
3. Use a little bit of the melted lipstick to smear the two pieces together. (If you've taken Ceramics before, you know what I'm talking about!)
4. Put in freezer for 15 minutes
5. You're done!
